授業概要
総合英語のテキストと文法テキストの2冊を用いて、特に、読む、書く、聞くの能力を高めて、2年次の英語2Aと2Bにつながる英語の基礎を固めを行う。
　　到達目標
　　　・英語の発音記号をきちんと発音できること。
　　　・英語で自己紹介や他者紹介ができること。
　　　・英語で簡単な日常会話ができること。
　　　・英文法の基礎を習得すること。
　　　・英検３級程度の英語運用能力を持つこと。
　　　・定期試験で出題する英検準２級問題集の問題に６０％以上正解できること。

授業の進め方
授業の前半・後半に分けそれぞれハーヴェスト英文法、World Trek- English Course 1-を用いて、できるだけ多くの学生が発言するような授業を行う。

成績評価の方法
定期試験を60%、小テスト点を10%、提出物を30%で評価する。なお、定期試験には英検のテキストからも出題する。
学生へのメッセージ
充分な準備をして授業に臨むこと。
積極的な発表とレポート提出を行うこと。
授業には必ず英和辞書を用意すること。
英検準2級のためのDAILY20日間集中ゼミ（旺文社）については、定期試験の出題範囲とするので、自学しておくこと。
